If you up load your pictures to Photobucket you can resize them to what you want.

In Photoshop open up the image, go to the Image menu, scroll down and select image size and the rest should be easy..

Thanks to you all..... I will have another go... but it did not work last time.. I must be doing something wrong.
RoLoo .... I wish you would not keep sending those fantastic photos... my cheque book is getting very twitchy.. But my better half knows that the seat behind is not really for passengers.. so she would not let my stable expand to 5..
cheers all

I've tried to do it on Photobucket as well, uploading a couple of recent track day pics, but without success.
I can get the pictures reduced to avatar size, 100 x 75 no problems, but can't get them down to the required 6KB file size. Is is that the original pics are just too high a resolution?
I've also tried reducing the file size before uploading to Photobucket, but the minimum file size I get for the avatar is about 22KB.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Rossy.... This is exactly what I am getting. I'm not sure its resolution....after all 110 x 100 pixels is exactly that... but I still cannot get it down to 6kb

Last time I admitted defeat and the current avatar i.e tyhe R100Rs was done by someone on the forum.... But I want to compete with AndrewS in very short measure... so far I have sadly failed??

...if you want to go 'the-AndrewS-way' ; you can find loads, and loads of animated avatars on the Internet...
...and you are right ; the Photobucket avatar in JPG is around 22 KB. If you turn that JPG into a GIF it is still 7,5 KB...

Hi Ron,
Just did exactly as you said..... I got the pic down to 90 x 6? which equalled 5.98kb in gif format. When submitted to Forum... it was rejected telling me it was too large.... Photoshop tells me it is 5.98k pixel size... maybe this is not kb's as in file sizes...I am flummoxed
