The Baglux system has a dual purpose in that it also protects the paintwork of the tank.

As an alternative to the fuel-filler mounted system, have a look at the Famsa system. It uses a small harness and is available from Winding Roads (amongst others)

I have the smallest of the Famsa bags, which I can't see on the website at the moment - but it is a useful size for day-trips and stuff.

The smallest of the other bags that clip to the fuel filler is a bit weird - it sits proud of the tank and looks really wonky :? I think I prefer the Famsa system

I bought the Famsa system listed above in this thread.... Very Good. In credibly simple but good sytem for the harness. Once around the head stock and 2 very clever clips that hook around the base of the tank... below seat level so no problems with unsightly clips or indeed damge to the tank paintwork. The zipping system makes it relatively easy to fill the tank. I would suggest it might be difficult to rezip up if your hands are cold.. but you will soon get the gist. Regards Stuart :P

Yes, the Famsa zip could be a problem - but you have to take your glove(s) off to pay for the petrol, so - resecure the bag before glov-ing up

You can always put a small fob on the zip-tab to assist, too

the FAMSA system is what BMW use for their own-brand bags isn't it??

I'm still waiting for someone to produce a properly waterproof "solid" walled tank-box - ie a top-box to fit your tank.

They don't do a FAMSA for the 12S yet

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately, at the moment we do not have a tank bag to fit the R1200S and as far as I am aware, none of the othere BMW models we have will fot the tank at present.

I have been asking the factory for a year now for the new R1200 ST / RT and S models, apparently the problem has been getting hold of bikes for long enough to do the development required.

Regards, Martin
