This seems like a good deal as other dealers are asking £9k plus for used R1200S's.

Why did I just buy a car

I'm swaying towards an R1200S however I don't fancy parking it up in London's congested bike parks daily. It's amazing how inconsiderate scooter riders are. Probably 50% of the time I have to manhandle a scoot out of the way just to get off the side stand!
Another example this week - a pished up tramp was kicking over the bikes in my bike bay when I left work for the evening. He had floored 3 bikes and was about to boot a Fireblade over and then my S. I actually didn't see him do any of the kicking so held back on the natural justice & just suggested that he better make himself scarce.
Sometimes having a ratty black S is a good thing - maybe

Julian, thats why I keep an old banger Vespa - I always park the S on the pavement as its almost impossible to find a spot to slot in an 800mm wide motorbike and then lean it onto its sidestand...
At least most scooters are light and I find the rear rack gives good purchase to shuffle them about...
After the last bike/floor interface I was just glad it wasn't a brand new shiney bike - If you actually use the things they don't stay that way for long...
As for tramp
Ade.

I like the odd evening on the PISH

but don't feel the need to round it off by trashing someone else's stuff though.
Natural justice is very tempting in those circumstances but with the number of CCTV cameras around, not to mention the camera phones, it's not usually worth the hassle.
