Yep,. really scarey. 2005/2006 looks like 27.2p per mile for me. ( I only get paid 46p pr mile, ... so every 'Empty Mile' costs a fortune). Funnily enough, that means that it is now cheaper for me to travel 'Off-Peak' everywhere on a train, ... if only they were better at filtering.

46p a mile is truly attrocious; don't know how you can survive on that Geoff?
I decided against working for a courier company locally in Cambridge for similar money; now I commute down to Heathrow and get paid nearly double that per mile.I'm also on a guarantee which makes things a bit more comfortable.
Like you said the dead mileage is a killer.

My bike costs have tumbled this year - partially due to less miles (car is getting more use ) and significantly due to no new tyres so far - replacement's due
and no BMW services..
Last but not least I finished paying for the beggar....
Actually come to think about it thats rubbish - there was the small issue of a new clutch and gearbox rebuild..

Holy cow....how do you survive at those rates doing mostly town work ? Or do they give you some distance work ? Give me a shout if you are around the midlands and I'll see what can be done to run back loaded.

It's not how fast you ride, it's how you ride fast.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.
