New here but already looking for advice

Post by Rangoon »

Hello All

I am looking for a second hand r1100s and i think i have found a particularly clean one on ebay.

see ebay item no 170051709448

sorry can not do the link thingy,

what do you guys think its worth and is there anything i should be on the look out for?

Advert says it was previously owned by a boxertrix member? have no reason to doubt this, maybe it was yours??

all comments received with thanks

john

I think that that bike was once owned by our very own founder Gromit (and Paul before him) I'm sure they will both be along soon and can give you some history on this bike.

Peter's right, this bike was Paul's and then mine - I sold it in March '05. The chap who bought it flew over from NI to pick it up - he's a thoroughly decent, genuine guy so I'd have no qualms buying the bike off him at all, if it was what I was after.

The bike's a good'un too having been part of the Boxertrix 'family' for several years. I sold it with around 44k on the clock so it's hardly been used in the meantime. When Paul had the bike it was fitted with a new rear drive shaft/diff at around 22k (Felim I'm sure will have the receipts for this) and had a full service with SLM at 42k. It's got the standard rear shock which has done itro 10k with short torque arm, plus a Sport front shock which has probably done less than 5k.

Here's the link to the auction

I was slightly confused over the number plate thing too :?

Looks like it is still a tidy bike :D

Will be interesting to see what the reserve and sale price is (if it goes)

The numberplate may be of interest to a Ducati 998 owner with the relevant initials perhaps ? There are many number plate sellers out there who will give you a valuation but that's no indication that somebody will pay that amount.

If you're that interested you need to get a bidnapper.com account. Some see it as auction subterfuge, but needs must when the devil rides, as they say.
