Fasteners

Post by POB »

Hi -

Just ordered eBay engine & bodywork stainless fastener kits from the states. Seller was "desmoparts" at it was about £45 for both. Anyone have experience with these kits? I want to make sure that there aren't too many chewed / ropey fasteners on my bike, and it seemed good value.

I was very tempted by the extra-stealth number plate bracket, but once teh bidding got to within a quid or two of the new price I thought I might prefer one without rust, and with a warranty!

Made my own number plate brackets out of 18swg aluminium. Very easy to do. Once you have got rid of the spacers and stuff on the BMW mounting the numberplate is not only further forward but also a little higher. I used LEDs for the number plate lights at first, but then removed theses too. There is no MOT on bikes here so nobody will care.

Fastners

I tried the Desmoparts fastners and they are as soft as sh#t. They will round off just when you don't need them to. Search the threads - there's loads of recommendations.
