Just brought the Haynes manual off their website, pt. no. 3466, now covers the R1100S in detail in the sections.
Would seem that the R1100S wiring is different to the rest as it has it's own diagram's for pre and post 2000 in there, as well as a seperate section on bodywork, airbox, exhaust et cetera, soon I'll find out it's true quality when I get to do some stripping down. Now I wonder what it says on ABS-II brake stripping.......
New Haynes Manual (or been out and aint noticed it)

yeah, bit vague, interesting to note that the ABS provides the speedo signal, dunno whether the ABS sensor can be utilised to direct straight to the speedo, or whether the speedo heads are the same between non-ABS and ABS so you could fit a non-ABS rear difff with speedo sensor to get around the ABS..... something to look into
I think that's only on the later servo ABS equiped bikes - my ABS is completey disconnected and I still get a speedo. I noticed on Andys bike the other day that his diff didn't have a speedo pickup hole!minivin wrote:yeah, bit vague, interesting to note that the ABS provides the speedo signal, dunno whether the ABS sensor can be utilised to direct straight to the speedo, or whether the speedo heads are the same between non-ABS and ABS so you could fit a non-ABS rear difff with speedo sensor to get around the ABS..... something to look into
