Removal of Threads
I believe this is the worst form of censorship. What ever the reason for doing, with the best intentions or otherwise, this is not right. People have spoken, people have responded and unless the words used were wrong or inflammatory, they should stay.
This is a fantastic forum, please don't spoil it.

Not sure about this one..
Ideally if the thread gets posted, the poster is asking for a response or making a point: he/she has something to say and wants to say it in public (otherwise he'd pm it innit) - provided its not seriously offensive it should stay and the responses or lack of would mean it would either become a hot topic which gets us all talking (a good thing) or no response and drop off the forum into internet obscurity. This would be the self regulating democratic forum web thang in action.
Censorship is a dangerous thing and the thread in question could be interpretted as representing subversive views on the forum - ie. a conspiracy amongst forum members against another - which should obviously be exposed for the good of all (you know who you are
) and the fact it has been removed is to protect their interests over others.... very bad.
In this instance I think its a teeny bit different as the thread was the slightly piqued remonstrations of a sensitive chap - and it may be doing a favour to the person who posted it. Indeed he may have requested its removal.
What say the moderators?

ps. the conspiracy theory was a joke (in case this thread gets deleted).

What have I missed?:
The Midlands crew seemingly not invited/not interested in joining the Oop North tour?
The Southern crew whinging at getting wet on the Oop North tour?
The Northern crew complaining that Southerners come up here and clog our roads as well as theirs?
Surely there's no bad words on this site of friends?

Stuart,
This is a very lightly moderated board. In the couple of years it has been running in it's current form I think that this is only the second or third thread to be pulled. As the previous posters on this thread have mentioned, it was done not to censor the original post, but rather to leave the door open to the poster to come back and play without the millstone of that particular posting hanging around their neck.
Cheers,
Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Hi Paul,
I notice every time you respond to a thread... a little box appears... it tells me what ip address I'm on... it tells me I'm using Safari..... It also tells me I am a wonderful chap.... how do you do that???

Don't worry - only you can see your info, it's quite a common sig line thing on internet forums.

The box you see is just a fancy display of standard info that can be gleaned from your connection and browser, don't worry each person see's their own information. If you like it you can use it, got to danasoft.com and you can grab what you need from there.
