Service recommendation

Post by Duggers »

It’s my first post on here, so, hello to everyone

My bikes is due to have its 12k service and I’m looking for a recommendation for dealers in west Essex or London it’s out of it’s warranty so it doesn’t need to be a main dealer.

Also

I came back from holiday to find a dead battery. I tried bump starting the bike without success, is this possible to do or was I just wasting my energy?

For servicing try Jap & German someone will be along soon with contact details no doubt.

You can bump start them and it is a bugger, but if the battery is below 9 volts (I think) there isnt enough power to trigger the motronoc.

What you need is a drycell battery from Winger

You could always try it yourself

and get thwarted by the ever dissolving bolts and fasteners....

Used to go to SLM, there was Prestige in Bexely Heath and if your really desperate go to Park Lane/ Park West...

Cannons in Chelmsford?

I have started my S from a dead battery a number of times. It helps if someone gives you a push...

Won't be going to SLM again...

1. I mentioned the copaslipped rear wheel bolts at the 6k service - they said 'they couldn't find anything wrong with them'
2. I asked for Castrol GP mineral oil to be used - they put GPS semi-synth in and over-filled it.
3. The bike now vibrates a fair bit more than before the service.
4. Tyre pressures were set too low (this was despite me checking them the day before taking the bike in)

I'll be trying Jap&German for the 12k as they'll stamp the service book for warranty etc.

Thanks for your help, I think i'll give Jap&German a try.

Ade,

I've tried the home servicing route before, hence the two "project bikes" now sitting in my garage.

I've used J&G and would recommend them.
