Lennies Induct a potted history!!
There were some postings the other day about an Induct,to my amazement people were asking what it was, maybe were not preaching the gospel like we should.
It surfaced in 2000 ish!!,made by an Australian,my bad memory fails me but i think is real name is Mark Lennon or sommat like that, his nickname is Lennie the Modifier and over the years he built a very trick S,pictures can be tracked down on the Pelican site.
When it was launched,it had a rival made by San Jose BMW,Lennies was made of C/F the SJ was injection moulded, and the two makers had a handbags at dawn set too on the Pelican site!!! which took several months to settle down,i don't recall Chris from SJ has ever posted since.
People who bought it very early like Peter actually bought direct from him in Oz,haveing touted it heavly on the Pelican, then set up various importers through out the world, they retail at £250,and 100ish secondhand.
It ain't rocket science it's just twice as big as a stock one,so the motor is able to gulp more air,and if you add a SJ filter does it even better, with a decent pipe.
One of those oddities (Induct) is a registered trade mark.
I'm sure there's loads i've forgotten or missed, but at least gives an insight.

The Lennie's induct certainly works well, although I still retain a certain amount of scepticism as to whether I find all of its effects to my liking. I have little doubt as to its benefits at higher speeds/engine rpm but have always been concerned as to its negative effects lower down the rev range. It definitely makes the motor feel flat below 4500rpm, so much so that I find myself doing overtakes in a gear lower than I would have done without it.
Despite all this, I'd still rather run the bike with it, than without it. Just makes the bike feel peppier.
Just need the SJ filter unit now - anyone know if you can just order this straight from the US? (I've been on to the SJ website for a look-see).

I just bought one via SJBMW's internet site - it was mule'd over from the States by one of my work colleagues. I'm sure SJ they send them overseas.Gromit wrote:Just need the SJ filter unit now - anyone know if you can just order this straight from the US? (I've been on to the SJ website for a look-see).
