Hey Andrew fae Fife. Do Fife Polis actually know about and operate this?

It's enough to make ye want to drive faster than 100 all the time! (see text about a third of the way down).

Stevie,

ANPR has been around for quiet some time, and not just in Strathclyde and Fife, but all police forces in the UK.

It is not there for speeders, but mainly for crime and other activites.

The Scottish Execeutive might have spent £1.5m, but it is not used no where near it's full potential.

ANPR has been around in London and the South East for quite some time and its presence is growing in Kent - there are several fixed roadside sites now and the camera's are in clear view for all road users to see.
