Any comments about this Company.

Jude and I are off to France next week for a couple of days and they are offering the best price IE £48 return two people and the bike.

Bob - can't speak from personal etc but I'll bung a thread up on Visordown for you; there'll be a few folk on there who will have used them (who knows, you may even get some sensible replies!).

Edit: Just did a search, coming up with the following results for you to browse...

Have used them twice with mates for the bikes and they were absolutely fine. Helped with the strapping down and no problems with the bike at all.

Bit limited on food and no duty free when we went although I think this has changed since.

If you swap your bike after booking they do allow you one free administrative change to details, otherwise they used to charge £10 for each change.

Go for it

Tried them once. Cheap? Yes. Worth it? Not really. Supposed to be a fast crossing but the engines weren't warm enough on the outward journey and I can't remember the excuse for the return but that wasn't quick either... oh, and it was 2 hours late departing :?

On top of that one boat and few crossings that are normally packed means little chance of switching boats. Believe me, we tried.

Personally, Eurotunnel wins everytime, failing that go for one of the larger ferry companies like P&O who won't sting you for switching crossings and run more boats.

EDIT: We managed £54 return with Eurotunnel so £48 ain't that cheap.

Bob & Jude, Bob & Jude here, coincidence or what. We have used speed ferries loads of times and found them cheap, clean and fast (50 minutes). They are more convenient being at Bologne than the Calais mob. There is a small Etap hotel just near the Leclerk supermarket about 10 minutes away from the ferry at this end, so 40 euro for a room and a cheap tank of fuel just before we depart for the UK is great.
We found the boat very comfortable and the staff very helpful.

I used them for the first time last week, no problems, all went smoothly and on time, and cost me £44 return. Bargain.

I don't think people have an issue with the ferry Bob,it's just if you have a blip, punture,or change of plan the ferry times are hardly helpfull, were as P+O it's just a case of waiting 30minutes for the next one,i made my mistake trying to save twenty quid useing Sea France last year!!!

Speed Ferries.

Outward trip OK
Return trip delayed by one hour due to technical reasons ?

On the whole very good and will use them again.

NOTE

If you intend to use this company go to Speed Ferries .Com

Do not go to Speed Ferry.Co.UK this is an agency site and you will pay more for the ticket (like I did  )

We are now using Speed Ferries every week for the Sprinter vans, run pretty much to time so far but there is an admin charge of £10 if you need to change your date/time of sailng and they are very, ver busy whilst the school holidays are on and the prices go up accordingly.
