Hi folks, Can any one tell me when the 1100s went to twinspark. According to bmw it was December 2002.... was this production dec 2002. Does anyone know from what vin number.... or where I might find out? cheers Stuart

mine was produced in December 2002, an on the road since January 2003, and is a single spark.

I believe the twin-spark came mid 2003

Thanks Ron, I wonder if anyone knows what vin number this started at? On one of PHB's sites He list all the models, their numbers and month of manufacture etc etc etc..... But the 1100S has not been collated yet...any ideas.

Just to clarify it a little bit.

The twin spark did not start on all models at the same time. The GS was first (I think) in late 2002, followed also in late (later??) 2002 by the RT and then...................who knows????

As far as the BCR's are concerned, the first (much smaller batch) were single spark and the second, much larger production run, were all twin spark - from about April 2003. I think the normal 1100S went twin spark (in the UK) very early in 2003.

All that is just from memory.

My twin spark bike which was reg in June 03 was made in late December 02.
