Just dropped my BCR, sh*t, b***ocks, f**k. Trying to put it on NWS paddock stand on my own, sh*t, b***ocks, f**k.
Cost of parts to repair .................................£689

yes, thats right, £689 including 3290 for carbon cylinder head cover!!!!
DO NOT DROP YOUR BCR! ALWAYS ASK SOMEONE TO HOLD THE BIKE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DO ANYTHING STUPID.
Anyone got any spare parts they would like to go to a good home

Ouch, deepest sympathy - my S was knocked over last year by a Chelsea tractor in a parking bay... cracked screen, scuffed mirror and scratched cylinder head..
I struggle to get the R6 on the rear paddock stand single handed, wouldn't dream of trying with the S....
Don't motorworks do cheaper bits - the magnesium head is far cheaper than the CF part if you don't mind it not being original.
Best of luck
Ade.

OUCH!!!
Dropped mine over last friday being silly by changing the oil without using the paddock stand.
Got away with a broken rear indicator stem, scuffed cylinder head protector and slight marks on the indicator pannel and mirrors.
Total cost £5.19.
Not that it will make it any better for you
seroiusly im only about 10 mins down what used to be the A453 from you, before you try to throw it over again, give me a shout.
Mick

Err..........£689? What speed were you doing when you mounted the paddock stand?
Easily done - usually just the once, though.
Which model of BCR is it you have, and which Carbon cylinder head cover is it? Right or left? I have a Right one (From a 2004 twin-spark)(the one that doesn't get dropped on)
Al
Just noticed that Grommit is 1 off 2000 posts.

You could just leave the carbon cilinder head protector on, and book a track day (or two) for half the money. Then scrape those cilinder heads to the tarmac and 'camouflage' the damage..
Voila, problem solved!
No thanks, free tip, no charges for this one...

I hope you fix it up on the cheap.
Heavy bleeders when they start to topple aint they?
Good excuse to go the matt black route though!

Thanks for the sympathy chaps and the kind offer of parts. Lloyd, i'll call you later today.
Sounds like its quite a popular past time!! Maybe we ought to form a club!!!..................we call it the 'I've Dropped My Pride and Joy Club' or 'The Stupid W**kers Club for short!!
Anyway, I have decided not to fund the chairman of BMW's holiday in Bermuda all in one go and have only ordered a new rear body panel (£109) and the decal (£33.10 ....yes thats right!) for now.
Other parts required are; (All right hand side)
Carbon engine cover.
Pillion foot rest assembly.
bar endweight
brake lever
mirror assembly
rear indicator
front indicator pod
oh.. and a bucket of tarmac would'nt go amiss to fil the dent in the drive!!!
Bike is a 2002 Boxercup rep (randy model)
If anyone does have any new or mint secondhand parts available I would be delighted to take them off your hands. I might even be prepared to pay
Just to make matters even worse, the day before I carefully placed my bike down on its side, I reversed my un-marked car into a bloody van parked on the other side of the road from my drive!!!! Now I have a huge f**king dent in to the bumper.

Good luck tracking down the parts - they are getting more rare by the month (and more expensive)
I bought a new rear panel, took off the pannier rails cos I thought the bike looked better that way............................. and got off it with the side stand half cocked!!!
Gravel rash on the brand new panel
Pannier rails are lifesavers!!!

...sorry to see your love tarnished...but don't feel stoopid...this may cheer you up, I attempted to remove both wheels on a jackstand once...I came home from have the tyres mounted and heard the wife scream like she'd stepped on a rattlesnake...
...got away with minor damage...
