Oil Filling...

Post by chrisp »

my bike has no centre stand,so i got it upright and left it 10 mins.....nothing obvious in the sight glass.

added 1 litre of oil, and still nothing.

Is is REALLY obvious when there is a line of oil there??

could it already have been full and i have over filled it?

is it normal to fill up with more than a litre??....the engine oil light has stayed off.

i dont want to put any more oil in if it is full, but i dont want to run it with less than it should have in it!

help!

The sight glass is silver backed when empty, oil is dark. Did you run the bike til warm b4 you left it ? There may be a sizeable amount trapped in the oil cooler which has a tempreture operated valve.

Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.
