Speedo Goes To 30mph When Choke Is Used

Noticed this morning when starting the bike up (R1100S 2001 5500 miles on clock) that when I used the choke the speedo went up to 30mph and then back down again. It did this everytime I used the choke to check it. I have not noticed this before.
Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

No idea why, but it might be worth seeing if it still has the same effect when you're doing 130.

Hmmmm!Could be a electrical conection or chafed/broken wire coming into play when the fast idle cable is applied.The cable could be moving against the wiring.Weird one for sure.
