Guys,
I was planning on going to the UK GP and camping there for the 3 days, does any one have experience of this? I've read several comments on the MCN forum and found them to be less than enthusiastic. Is this a bad idea?
Cheers

Archie went last year and was thoroughly unimpressed with the "facilities".

try booking in at park farm it is right next to circuit, the marshals use it so it may be pretty booked up but it is far better than the animal farm public site.

I went in 2004. It were sh!te. We had gas canisters taken away at the gates, there was basically only gristle-burgers to eat, no entertainment, and insult to injury no beer for sale.

Also the bogs were minging. Also it took forever (5 hours) to get out, although I was in a car cos my arm was in plaster.
Yes, highly recommended. There was a big stink about it after, and there were promises to improve it, but I couldn't bring myself to go back again last year to find out.

Last time I camped there was for the Transatlantic races in the early 80's and it was crap then.....from all reports it's gone downhill since then. The farm sounds like a good compromise.

I took my wife (girlfriend at the time) back in '94 and wisely stayed in the family camping area. Wandered over with a crate of beer to watch the entertainment in the 'mad max' campsite

, got hammered and then wandered back for some sleep without worry of being mown down in our tent.
Great atmosphere and complete lunacy completely ruined by crap facilities and minging toilets. Family site was ok but from more recent reports it sounds as though it may have gone downhill... if that's possible.
Shame really 'cos the racing is good. Watch it on TV.

Last time I went was in 2002 - even though I was pissed most of the time, it wasn't enough to not notice the disgraceful state of the place.
Shame, as years before it wasn't too bad.
