What's that in real money?

Ok, I'll be helpful: 1.375 x 25.4 = 34.925mm so that'll be 35mm then which concurs with the workshop manual.

Forgive me father for I have sinned... ex S owner moved onto pastures new with four cylinders and a chain... and back to a twin, albeit in a V.

 That is real money!

I will convert it to - 1 3/8 inch.

I'm far too old to think metric. Anyway I think that metric is part of a European conspiracy and of no help to anyone.

Ah!! Is that the truth, or is it another myth?

Like the myth that most countries of the world drive on the right hand side of the road.

There are apparently more countries that drive on the left, and I am told that it is not even close!

Sandbar,

You've not taken your medication today, have you

Dr. Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

How did you know??

PS Large parts of Africa, Asia, The Far East, Japan, Australasia, Caribbean along with loads of others all drive on the left. Some of the countries are pretty small, I will grant you, but nevertheless I am told that the numbers are there! The 'European Ideal' is distorting our view of the rest of the world. As the yanks say "Do the math!"

Good point Sandbar, and if you add up the populations of those countries, it's surprising how close the results are. The chinese drive on both sides of the road simutaneously, but this is not unique to them.

Not only the Chinese.

I remember being in Delhi (during a previous life) and querying the rules to a taxi driver who replied "no right - no left - just drive straight!"
