Battery blues and missing screws

My battery has been playing up recently.... stalled on the way home tonight and refused to start again... managed to bump it back to life... but in the process of removing the pillon seat cover I lost one of the pillion seat screws as well
Can anyone advise where to track down another pillion cover screw, and where I can order a good sealed battery from.
God I hope this week gets better.....

Your friendly BMW dealer is the only likely source for the pillion cover screw. There are two types. If your bike is one of the early '98/'99 machines there is a crap and ineffectual screw which will turn forever. The later bikes have a newer type which has a positive locking action after about half a turrn. If you have the old type, you can buy a replacement set with two new style seat inserts. Take in your one remaining screw to the BMW dealer for positive identification.
Mr Winger can sort you out with a Hawker Odysee(??) sealed gel type battery. Completely maintenance free and a stronger current output than the standard unit. He'll offer you a better price than in the shops, but
may have to kill you if you tell anyone else

I have one fitted and it works a treat. PM winger for further details.
