Hi there, just bought my 2nd ever bike, an R1100S, absolutely fantastic. '99' plate, when I bought it, it only had 3,200 miles on it, couldn't believe it, mint condition and absolutely loving it!

I have a couple of questions though:

1. What are your thoughts on getting a set of Remus end cans for it and chipping it?
2. What does chipping it actually do?
3. Is there a ball park figure that someone can quote me for having this done?
4. Are there any negatives on doing this?

Hope to hear from fellow R1100S riders soon, cheers the noo.

Hi gary
Welcome to the forum.
I take it your bike is stock including the cat(big square box conected to the exhaust under the bike).
The first thing is to get rid of the cat and maybe add some cans.
Chipping the bike(there are lots of chips available)alters the mapping for the ECU.Some exhaust manufactures have there own chips to go with there exhaust systems. Some have preset maps which you can switch between(BBP chip)
I,ve and others have run exhausts with the standard chip with no problems.
I have a laser Y piece and a set of laser end cans availabe for sale if your interested.PM me and ill give you the details.

Hi Gary
My BCR came with Laser cans and chip the receipt with the information pack was £999.99 fitted.
I cant comment on whether it has improved BHP or torque curve as I havent riden one without perhaps someone else can say what BHP gain no cat and chip gives Ive been told its about 8Bhp ?
I can confirm that it sounds georgeous on overrun and on power it sounds like a ccm on drugs.
