Site stability issues

Hi all.

Apologies for the site stability issues we have been experiencing of late. Talking to the web hosting company, it appears that we have been targeted by some servers from China, which have been overwhelming the site with transactions, hence the SQLi error message we have been seeing. I have now blocked traffic for that region and made a few more changes to the configuration which would hopefully eliminate or at least reduce the problem. I now also have a technical contact at the hosting company who seems to know what they are talking about so if the problem does persist we have more options to tackle it.

Cheers,

Paul

excellent, I suspected as much but was blaming the Russians as all of the IP's and email addresses appeared to be Russian :D

Slight problem at the moment: If you login as a guest, then try to use the login button on the top right of the screen, you get an error message. if you previously ticked the "remember me" button on the login screen, you can get in OK. Im working on fixing this.

I have also signed up for an account to front end the web site and wed out denial of service attacks. Fingers crossed, that will solve the problem once and for all.

regards,

Paul

Cool

Another wee issue I've noticed it the search box and the top right doesn't work, I'm guessing the script is pointing to a dead connection?

I can log in on my PC but my phone bounces over to the Forbidden message

Yup, I've spotted that. It's obviously something I've done to stop the DoS attacks that were impacting the site availability. I'm working with the hosting provider to rectify this. I have also put in place a new front end solution from CloudFlare which should prevent the DoS attacks in future, so am currently unpicking some of the changes to the site which have resulted in the issues with permissions trying to access some functionality of the site such as logging on.
