04 Boxercup front calliper rebuild

Post by dave the german »

Has anyone re built the front callipers off the RWB Boxercup? I believe these are the Eco callipers. The rebuild kit includes new pistons which I don't need. I know the seals are available individually so has anyone bought them and if so where from (this is just to save me trawling through the internet!!)

I had a pair rebuilt a few years ago.

Bought a complete kit of pistons and seals, and Two Wheels in Edinburgh were very cheap to install them, so I left it to them.

The piston/seal kits ain't dear - I probably got mine from Motorworks.
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....

Thanks Al. Motorworks are only listing seal kits with the pistons so puts the price up to £70 ish per calliper. I've tried Powerhouse Automotive as well and while they'll refurb the callipers they won't?can't supply the seals. I doubt very much whether Brembo designed a specific size piston for BMW so I'd be very surprised if they weren't used on other makes and models it's just a matter finding out which other bikes they're used on

Maybe worth a chat to Bigg Red - http://biggred.co.uk
They refurbish and supply seals as well as caliper pistons.
I have used them in the past ok for both cars and bikes.
