R1100s before and after...

Post by Petronius »

Been fettling with bike (again) and finally (during lockdown) got round to painting and fitting the belly pan. Thought I'd share a few photos as a 'never painted anything before' newbie I surprised myself with the end result! Before any work this was a bog standard mandarin R1100s.

Nice work! :hello1:
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I like to keep my stuff as standard as pos as long as I can but that hs made a massive difference to the look of the bike, much better in my opinion, well done Mate 8)

Thanks for posting , maybe i'm biased as an owner but it's amazing how good a 20 odd yr old design can look ...

Hello

Thanks for all the comments. For those asking I got the belly pan from https://www.ricambiweiss.com/en/verklei ... 100-s.html

Fixing kit came from eBay but it looks like ricambiweiss also have a universal fitting kit. Looks very different to mine though so may be worth enquiring with them before you buy.

Paint and materials can be sourced through a number of websites. You just need paint codes.

Decals were sourced through https://shop.zengraphics.co.uk/bmw-r110 ... specialist Really great site and they'll produce the set in whatever colour combination you want.

Have fun! Stay safe!

There should be dimensions for a fitting kit somewhere on the forum. I believe Blackal posted it some time ago

Great Job, makes such a difference a belly pan. I'm going to have to get one, especially as you say you have no spraying experience. I haven't either, gonna give it a go.
