fairing/touring

Hi is there any mods I can do to the screen on my Boxercup as I find the wind is blown straight at my head.
also is there any decent tank bag that will fit the odd shaped tank.

Try baglux, who should be able to colour match the tank cover that you'll need as well

yup. i'm with brett. baglux. good range of tank bags to fit the cover. i have an alpha bag. hein gericke stock them. they definitely do a cover for the s (i've had one in the past). however, make sure that baglux are clear that you want one for an s - they have twice sent me different covers (gs and rs). easy exchange but it's still a pain to have to wait for the new one to arrive.

I've got the raised BMW screen but it still gives your neck and visor cleaning cloth a work out.

When i bought my S,it came with both BM high and low screens, found the high one to be reasonable in some conditions and a absolute horror in others so much so, the one and only time i used it,my other half thought i was messing around moveing my head about!!!,have to say while i've been one of the first to moan about vibes etc, always rated my S with the stock screen to be one of the greats up to 125ish,after that you've got to get on the tank anyway to get the best out of the motor!!!.

On the tank bag front, I simply used my oxford magnetic tank bag, by sticking some large steel washers to the underside of the fairings.
No need to buy the over priced BMW jobs.

I've got a Baglux. Easy to fit and you can put any size tank bag on. Also protects your tank from, zips, knees and other riders in a tight parking bay. Got mine from Gerick. Took me a while to get one to match Phoenix grey (they sent me some samples to get the colour right, lovely people!), but any other colour and you should be fine.

Eggcup,

What colour BCR do you have 2003 or 2004.

If it is a 2003, and my bike is written off then I will have a Baglux tank cover and bag for sale, along with other goodies. I will let you know if you want.

high screen

Post by cc mac »

I fitted a Wunderlich high screen to my S. At 30mph it sounded like Iwas riding behind a jet engine. Eventually I decided to cut off about 30mm with a jigsaw (don't laugh), it was a lot better though not perfect for touring. I now have an Ermax item fitted. It's about 100mm taller than standard and not as noisy as the Wundrlich. It works great with the raised handlebar mod, mentioned elsewhere in this forum. Good luck.

BRILLIANT!

Wish I'd thought of that! Only way to better it would be to glue a few magnets to the underside (right way round of course)

I'll have to experiment.

Thanks,
