Givi Tanklock

Post by GunK190 »

Hi, all just a query that I hope someone may be able to help me with regarding using a Givi Tanklock is there a compatible ring/flange that will fit the R1100s. Off on my hols soon and just wondered if it's possible to use this system. Many thanks

the one for the latest watercooled GS fits. It will be, as someone pointed out, off centre but if it's only a small bag, you would hardly notice it - brilliant bit of kit. Alternatively, I have a specific R1100s Famsa tank bag that I have offered for sale and there haven't been any takers if you're interested

If you're going to use the tanklock system, check bolt sizes with the original. I seem to recall the Givi ones are too long. This might be because Givi don't list a compatible fitting kit

I'd be going with this.
Even if it is the wrong colour, you can't grumble at the price.
Usually the harness alone without the bag is over £100

Cheers for the info Dave I'm going to look into it a bit more, only wanted a small bag for camera and documents. How big is the Fasma bag? and how much would you be looking for it?

The Famsa bag is quite big - it is expandable. Check it out on Winding roads website. I'm not a fan of tank bags really - they do tend to move and have to be unzipped when fuelling. I use a pretty small Give tanklock bag on my GS just for wallet, camera (don't know why as I never take pics!!) and other odds and sods - visor cleaner etc. If you don't want to carry loads, I would opt for the Givi system (at the risk of losing a sale on my un-used Famsa tank bag)
