My R1100S has an oil leak from the bottom of the front timing chain cover. It looks like it's caused by one of the bolts shearing off so the bolt will have to be drilled out and replaced. I'll also have to check the torque of all the other bolts.
Are all the bolts securing the cover M6x30? (Or are any M8?)
Hopefully I won't need to remove the timing chain cover itself but if I do, does it have any type of gasket or sealant? The manual suggests it doesn't.

In the factory, the bead of gasket is applied by a robot with the front of the engine pointing upwards.
Doing it by hand with the engine in situ can be a bit hit and miss (apparently).
The slightest mistake, and it starts leaking so you have to start all over again.
I didn't bother.
