Hi folks...

Picking up my latest bike on Saturday....'99 1100S

( it's the one with the cool paint job from Tunneruk of this parish...)

140 mile ride home should give me an idea of what I've bought :D

Sad as it is, I've had over 100 bikes in 39 years of riding ....and each on was going to be a 'keeper'

You never know [smilie=flog dead horse]

Bryn , I too have ridden many many bikes over the years.

Strangely , the R1100S has grown on me , so much so I have 2 of them now.

I still have my Suzuki Super Motard for the hooligan side .

Err and my KTM 250 for the odd Hare n Hounds race , or enduro ......

But the BMW grows on me daily when I find just how good it is .

The only place I've not enjoyed is riding the small lanes in the Brecons ....

Its a heavy old beast to maneuver about .

But there the Motard is king .

Enjoy , and don't base your opinion on one ride home , use the bike for all sorts and you will enjoy I'm sure.

I rode mine , over 800 km on tuesday this week from Bilbao to Alicante , no issues at all.
No fatigue, no back pain, no cramps.
Just tired from being on the road 10 hours including stops.

Welcome in!

Not the lightest of bikes, but I still enjoy a blast on the Boxercup.
