Guys,

Re-building the forks as had a leak.

Query: in removing the seals, i noted that both the Fork slider bushes are a little bit worst for wear on the face that the seal sits on...there's a little bit of evidence of it being a bit pitted/almost rusty..

My natural & default position is to replace; do we agree? I do ask myself though, is it worth it as they do little other than a base for the seals to sit on..

I'm only asking as its another £10 that i need to spend but think its probably worth it to avoid any doubts..

Part in question is: https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop ... Q=SUA14630

Although I've never stripped the forks on my bike I think you've linked to the incorrect part number there.
I think the part number required is 31422311985

Some info here too

I replaced my rusty/leaking fork seals a couple of months ago. It's an easy procedure that should take you no more than an hour or so.

There's a good step-by-step guide from the 1150gs here: http://www.everydayriding.org/2011/05/r ... -seal.html

More or less the same on the R1100S. I recommend removing the fairing so that you don't accidentally damage it while levering out the old seals.

These are the parts you'll need:
