How does the rear exhaust come off ?

Just swapping out the cat for a Y pipe, I can see how the cat will come out backwards but the silencers have to come off to let it go back. Can't see how they are bolted on.
Any help gratefully received.

When fitting the new pipes....... start at the front and introduce all the bolts for a few threads - then tighten each a little at a time.......

(Apologies if you have already sussed that)

Can we call you Alison? (too many "Al"s on this site, all of a sudden )

I use a rubber mallet to remove and install mine once the clamp is released.

Just come back to the PC to check the manual incase I missed a bolt , Rubber hammer it is then.
Tank and fairings a bit of a pig as well first time , like the hidden fairing screw above the front mudguard with the bleeding forks in the way

The silencer hangs on two rubbers which tend to get stuck to the pins they hang off. It can take some effort to break the bond.

Managed to get them off, had to remove the pannier rails & rear body work too.
That's it for today, I'll put it all back together tomorrow. I will get a new air filter I see K&N do two types a square one or a tubular one .
Which one is best ?

The square one. You can buy it as part of a service kit from Motorworks. There is an adapter from a BMW dealer in America that is a neat and effective installation for a tubular filter.
