The service schedule states these need to be changed yearly or every 20k.
Since last service a year ago my R11S has done about 3k miles.
Does it really need new spark plugs? Feels like a waste of money as well as environmentally unfriendly.
What's the view here on this?
Cheers V

I'd say whip them out, see what they look like, and if they fit the usual parameters....and they're still working OK....leave them in for another year.

Agree.
They won't need replacing after only 3k, but personally I would change them well before 20k.
Do check the condition.
Plugs can tell you a lot about how healthy the engine is.

I seem to change them every 12,000 miles but I'm not convinced that I really need to do it that often but with the twin curved electrodes its nigh on impossible to gap them so I change them
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity
