I've just watched Paul Lewis from Money Box on Breakfast TV this morning. He was talking about ways to reduce your insurance. One way was a dash cam in your car which could save you money by telling your insurer.
Could you do the same on a bike? Would they reduce your insurance by using a helmet/bike camera. Or is this just for car drivers.

perish the thought, my insurance co would no doubt increase my premiums if they saw that I've "occasionally" exceeded the posted speed limit
Plus if the police stop you for a check they will look at the camera footage for anything incriminating.
PS
Plus I'm quite pleased with having all four bikes insured FC for £230

... and putting the car back on the road this year I was genuinely shocked to insure a 330Ci for £150 FC

For the rest of the population sounds like he's better off in jail!!
If you are going to record your 'twat' riding what else do you expect?

That's a relief - I lashed out £180 for two in Jan; IIRC the second bike is £25 on the basis that the risk is with the bike you're riding so the other is simply a % of nominal value, so somewhat relieved that my premiumm is consistent with the market... I'm with Swinton; haggled slightly but to be honest I had rather lost the will to live even before picking up the phone... Next year I'll try harder!
What I don't understand is that Swinton are simply middle men for a £25 fee - the underlying insurance is provided by Aviva - why shouldn't I just renew with them direct?
