Wheel Refurbishment

Post by Grip Fast »

Seasonal Greetings all.

I decided earlier this year that I couldn't get rid of my R12S - it's a keeper - suites me perfectly and a lovely bike to ride. It's in semi-retirement and will be used for dry days out, the Tiger 800 is my touring bike now - though I did 6,000 touring miles on the R12S this year.

But it needs a little tlc; mainly paintwork around the engine and wheels - starting with the wheels early next year. Does anyone know of a good wheel refurbishment company, preferably in North Bucks, Northants, Beds or maybe at a push, Oxfordshire?

I've done a bit of research on t'internet, but the ones I've found are a bit far away, and I'd like to deliver the wheels so I can see their premises.

For Jan 1st 2016, Lang may yer lum reek!

Thanks Al, I'll give Steve a call.

It's not so much, inspecting the premises, as just having a nosey. When I had the suspension done at Revs, they offered me a look round, and I just like seeing stuff like that. It's a bit anonymous sending bits off for refurb.

A bit further than I hoped, but day trip to Wiltshire is always good.

Steve used to be the production manager (or similar) at Dymag Wheels - so knows his stuff.

Did a top job on our audi alloys. I can also recommend ;
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)

started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

He did the wheels on my VFR. Not the cheapest, but the job was way above average.
