Controversial Moto GP dead seagull tribute page.

Post by Mitch1100 »

I'm sorry to say we have seen another fallen brother today. RIP to Gavin the Seagull who tragically was head-butted to death today by Andrea Ianonne on his Ducati. Gavin loved nothing more than to be right there in amongst the action of the MotoGP in Phillip Island, flapping his wings and enjoying the race. Sadly this was his last GP today. RIP brother. May you eat all the hot chips you can handle up there in seagull heaven. . . Please feel free to leave your words of respect for Gavin on the page. Thank you. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgl3eRc35i4

Channel 9. . 'MotoGP rider hit by seagull?' Such utter misleading tabloid journalism! I have personally viewed the footage at many angles, and read witness statements, and to my knowledge there is NO evidence to support this statement that Gavin the seagull hit the rider. Check your facts please. The footage clearly shows the rider hitting Gavin. Gavin was not an aggressive seagull at all. Please remember that seagulls are a part of this great sport and should be treated with as much respect as the riders. Thank you. http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=9042246

Very respectful post Mitch, RIP Gavin.

Hope he wasn't related to the one that had a couple of laps on Jorge's bike a few years back?

I kept watching it back frame by frame and poor Gavin actually hit the fairing. the "head Butt" was just a riders reaction to save his visor / face.

RIP Gavin.
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

There was a shot at the end of the race of Andrea Iannone's bike with a seagull sized hole in the fairing, lucky it didn't hit his head first.

It was reported that he'd head-butted the bird. Bollox. It clearly hit the fairing. Don't suppose it really matters to poor old Gavin.

Have to agree about race, best one for ages, and the best circiut I have ever watched racing at.
