Jeese what a palava ...

Post by slparry »

...... took the wheels off the F800GS and took them down in the car for the pre arranged fitting of new tyres, to find for what ever reason they weren't there, either not ordered or not delivered who knows. Anyway thought oh I'll just have some other adventure tyre to find no one had 21" fronts in stock locally.

So drove a round trip of 160 miles to Aberystwyth to the Heidenau importers. Wanted to try the K60 Scouts as they have a reputation of doing 12000 miles which if true is amazing for a "knobbly" type tyre

So at the mo' it's all in the boot of the car and I'll try again tomorrow!

it's all been "reinstated" for the road this year after being laid up for two years or more. New nearside wing, new brakes all around, two new rear springs and a full service. £1200 later it's graced with a new MoT :)

It does drive beautifully BUT I hate driving to be honest. Too many 40 mph trundlers around that would be overtaken with barely a thought on the bike but with the car, even a quick car like the 330Ci there's just not the overtaking opps that the bike presents. After 40 odd years on bikes I'm too impatient in a car.

Oh and I got FC insurance on it for £150 !!!! Stunned at that.
