Carbon Bodywork

Post by Spider001 »

Has anyone on here fitted a full set of Techcarbon bodywork? Does it fit well or look good? Would be interested to find out any problems before I order any of it. I like the look, but worried it won't fit together that well?

I am a bit of a CF junkie  But even I would draw the line at full carbon bodywork. I think its the contrast with paintwork that brings out the best in using CF.

If I ever get round to doing it, I'll post some photos. :D

I have it on my 12S......and you will probably read some of my comments on the Pelican link that was posted.

Here are my findings......

Front fender.....easy to install.....looks good.

Tank centre section...easy to install BUT....the stock side panels do not fit into the holes of the TekCarbon centre section without doing a lot of filing!

Front Fairing.....you will now need some sort of spacer for the mirrors as the Tec stuff is thinner than stock. Also the windshield mounts will need a little filing and it does not line up as nice with the fairing/gas tank sides.

Rear seat.....easy to install.....looks good.

Rear seat butt pad......you have to almost destroy your stock pad to get the base off to be able to install the Tec piece.......or figure out a way (like I did) to install the Tec piece without your base.......mine works, but I feel it is a little hokey.

Bottom line........I'm glad I got in on a group buy and we got a huge discount.....but they did not have the tank/fairing sides ready when we placed the order and I have not bothered to purchase them.

I would not do it over again!

It does look pretty nice though.

Feel free to ask more questions if needed.

Cheers
