Can anyone tell me if Ohlin shocks for a GS will fit on my R1100s without too much messing around.
Cheers

Hi
you watching these too?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1
I went to
www.ohlins.com to check the fitment but it seems the GS rear is a LOT longer (40mm?) than an S - may be wrong though

Yup - Jason's right. The front is approx 20mm longer and the rear GS shock at 383mm is 69mm

longer than a standard S shock which is 314mm.
It'd make for 'interesting' handling I think

Didn't they fit these to the Boxer Cup Race bikes to get more ground clearance ?

Aaaaahh!!! That explains why the picture of the UK Boxer Cup bike at Donington (as posted by Paul in the recent thread about paddock stands) showed the stand on the highest adjustment, yet the rear wheel was a similar distance above the ground as my BCR with the stand on the lowest adjustment.
I once tried to use the highest adjustment point on the stand, but the fulcrum(

) was then in a position that made it almost impossible to lift. Also the rear of the bike was stupidly high!
'Mini' Cooper was fairly short - I wonder how he got onto the racer. Maybe he needed a run-up and a trampoline board.
