Anybody going to the Mass meet up who is a wizard with the Twinmax.
If I was to bring mine with me, would somebody show me the correct way to use it. There's a pint in it for the person to get my engine running the sweetest

Hi andrew
dont know about being a wizard, but i certainly know how to use one in anger! You may want to set your valve clearances if they are due though,as its hard to balance if they are out.Would be a pleasure to show how to get your S in the sweet spot.

Good plugs help too.
Had my 6000 mile service althought 1200 miles late 800 miles ago. So I hope that the clearances were set right (how long does it take to check them).
I would be grateful if you could do the Twinmax for me, as since the service when I blip the throttle on down shift there is no reaction on occasions (making the the down shift not very smooth).

It takes about 30 minutes to check and adjust clearances, but the engine needs to be cold.I dont know what method they use at the dealers, but i use 4 sets of feeler gauges.A bit fiddly i know, however the results seem worth the effort.I imagine it may turn into a tech session at the meet, which i think would be great. All us grease monkeys who service our bikes can pass on the know how.

Gus have you got those funky feelers like the guys on Pelican?
I may see if I can get a set.
That sounds great if you are happy to teach. It is always good to be able to get the bike running at it's best. And knowing how to do it, as I said bike is not running as good as it was before the service.
Would you be willing to check my clearances or am I asking too much, as we are there to enjoy ourselves.

No problem,i,ll bring my gauges and i,ve a small torque wrench i can fit in my rucksack. You may want to take some oil with you to top up the small amount we will lose by removing the valve covers.Oh and some rags for cleaning up.Then again if your riding down from scotchland you will need to top it up anyway!
