Lumpy 1100S

Post by BoxercupDave »

Just thought I would introduce myself...
I used to have a R1150RT for many years, and now have a BCR rep rep.
It was initially a 1100S, but has had a respray to BCR colours with Remus, K&N, steel braided brake lines and the usual carbon bits.
I am loving the acceleration (compared to the RT) but it does seem a bit lumpy, and very rarely it farts and cuts out.
I have already read quite a few threads on different aspects of the 1100, and found the forum to be very helpful.

Welcome!, If you're not sure of its history , a routine service, maybe check the valve clearances and balance the throttle bodies, change the plugs and fuel filter and check that the rubber vacuum plugs are fitted underneath the throttle bodies. It looks like an early model so maybe have a good look at the rubber intake manifolds also , they can deteriorate over time.

I think Nigel about covers it....... :)

I'd also check the Llambda sensor, in case it is fouled up.
