1100s panniers rails and supports Good price ?

Post by Malj »

just had a quote from a helpfull chap from a well known BMW new and used parts supplier in west yorkshire for full set of panniers, rails and support rails used but in good condition, they also come with new lock barrels and keys, the quote was for a little over £300.

Whats your veiws on the price?

Not so many going round at the moment so dont think its to bad, however I have a supply of stainless tube and the facility to weld it, so i could make up some support frames and use my throw overs any opinions ?

Would'nt say we tour a lot but a couple of times a year IOM, Ireland or Dutch TT next year would be the first year on the 1100s after 3 years with a VFR and throw overs.

£300 is about right for the whole shebang - I think?

You may get cheaper if you skulk around Ebay and here for a while, and get them separately - but I'm not sure how much cheaper.

One thing is that you should always get your money back on them - when you come to sell - I would think.

Throw-overs are okay, but one of the things BMW do well - is luggage.

I think £300 for the whole lot 'and' from a dealer is pretty good especially with new locks and keys.
