Admiring his RR600, I asked what the cylindrical thing by the gearchange and the twin brake levers on the right clip-on were all about.
" whats this all about" I asked in my normal direct way.
"its cos I got no legs" was his reply, totally matter of fact, while I stood there a tad embarressed and stupid he told me about the mod`s made to the bike to allow him to use it and what was involved when you have nothing from the knees down, all totally as if it was not really a big issue, going by what I saw of him on track he seems to have mastered the skill rather well!
Listened to some of his exploits after the briefing as well, seems like a really decent chap who has bounced back from massive life changing moment and gone on to show us all just what you can do, certainly put my minor life quibbles into perspective.
Real hero?......Yes, he probably is!...
