Good afternoon cheps. Just bought a cheeky R1100S yesterday, first Beemer bike so all to play for. All good so far but then it's only my second day so only time will tell how I get on with it. Had a Harley 48 beforehand, nice enough bike for what it is but bit of a one trick pony and I got fed up not being able to go round bends.

Hello Joey,

I've only had my R1100s about 3 wks and the appeal has well and truly grown on me already, as I'm sure it rapidly will on you.

These bikes are unsung gems I reckon. Have fun.

Welcome in!

Hope you gel with the bike - most do, if they give it a reasonable time.

I did 170 miles on it yesterday bringing it back home and the first thing I noticed and that I'm now a big fan of are those front brakes. Absolutely brilliant, best brakes I've come across yet (although I've only had five bikes in my life). On any bike I've owned I've always preferred relying on the back brake more than the front, mostly as a result of of losing the front end once on an emergency stop and bending myself but also out of habit. I also never liked the way the front end dived when giving it a handful but this one is rock steady - like it a lot.

Welcome, nice bike there! you'll love it…few little foibles, like leaving on side stand for 15 mins after ride then upright to check oil, air filter changes ...

Welcome! Haven't been on BCR since June. Weather permitting will be out Sunday and looking foward to it. I'm sure you'll love the bike. Plenty of good advice here for all your 1100 needs

Cheers all, looking forward to getting to know you and the bike. Might have a mooch down to Ryka's on Sun and see what's about, haven't been down there for ages.
