....the best looking Buell ever built.
Needs some work and reliability mods sorting out. Looking forward to some fettling and tweaking over the next 12 months to make it a cracker

Very nice. I,ve never ridden a tuber only the later XB,s ......envious, you bet. A little update after the fettling would be nice.

Wilco.
An X1 Alu swingarm is winging its way from the USA and will be delugged and polished before going on. I need to fit a billet front engine mount as origin mounts and bolts eventually give in (crack) and you need to catch them before that happens!
And I need to get rid of the awful standard foot controls ideally with some Banke Performance items....just need to find a relatively cheap way of buying them.
Then there is the oil pump drive to change, primary drive adjustment shoe etc etc.
It might to a year or so to get it how I want.

Quality. Love it. There is always an example of something that is not mainstream that IS actually cool, and this is one. Go for it.

OK quick update before the bike goes off to get some more work done.
So far the following bits for one reason or another have made it into the bin:
- gash number plate hanger it came with - replaced with an Alu one I made/powder coated
- rear shock.........was leaking a whole day after I got it
- front engine mount - billet item added to ensure no breakage
- choke cable - due to muppetry on my behalf!
- primary chain tensioner - as the orignal was cracked through

, revised part fitted
- ugly foot controls - replaced with Banke Performance items
- rear brake line - goodrich item fitted
Some of the Stuff removed

Foot controls - far nicer than ugly chrome items with ridiculous linkage!

It's off to see perhaps the grumpiest Buell mechanic (in Dukinfield) for a couple of weeks for the oil pump drive, cut down cam case (and re-route oil lines) and the fitment of a nice shiny swingarm (from an X1), a metmachex oil tank and a hidden rear brake mount (and Brembo caliper).

Breathing mods...... Mikuni HSR42 Smoothbore Carb and a replica Buell Race system (which is actually quieter that the V&H that was on it when I got it). Really pleased to be able to get rid of the horrible exhaust wrap.

Shame it'll be tucked up for winter soon with the poor old R1100 taking the strain.

Looking great. The new stuff has some quality about it and as you say....so much better without the pipe wrap.

Replica Race Can made by a place called Pipewerx in Ormskirk and the header by a talented chap on the Buell Forum.

Buells are only owned by people of distinction. These people are special individuals who exude cool and vagaazma. Great post, and really cool kit. Love it.
