Really nice to think that I was there this year with a really good mate, on his first visit, booked when he was suffering bowel cancer. The year long build up helped him through some tough days and the actual week was absolutely fantastic. Every racer we met was friendly and took time to chat ( listening to Dan Kneen explain how Josh Brookes held him up in the Superbike race was very amusing, said without any arrogance, just matter of fact!) , the racing was awesome and locals very welcoming. One of the best weeks ever, so if you've not been - do it !
The IOM have not bowed down to the Health and Safety brigade (hurrah) or the Costa coffee pricing matrix ( coffee £1.50 everywhere round the course )
Now working out when my next visit will be - and it will not be long !

I don't know how they do it, especially with the transitions from dark to light, that must confuse the senses.
I disagree with your statement above to a degree. The racing is still good, but the treatment of the spectators outside of racing hours is not what it used to be. Especially in and around Douglas. It has changed dramatically since my first visit in 95.
You are now kept behind air fencing at Bushys and elsewhere and a lot of the party atmosphere has been lost in my opinion.
Still a great event though.
