This bloke really interests me, he can turn his hands to most things and in the public eye comes across as an honest bloke, what you see is what you get type of character. His latest offering on tv looks like a good watch. What surprised me on last evenings challenge was his rejection of the bike makers suggestion to put wider section tyres on his bike, we all know they are capable of delivering more stability, grip and therefore carry more speed in a straight line, ( perhaps he was thinking about needing a fresh pair of underpants at the time) Worth a watch.

I like him, he is a great character who wears his heart on his sleeve, no airs and graces.
Huge respect for what he achieved in last nights programme ,that took some guts. He did take the advice in the end to fit the wider tyres.

He will get his share of brickbats, just as Ewan and Charlie do.

He can ride the wheels off a bike on road circuits, has a good mechanical aptitude and has the character required to carry off TV presenting.

Half the time - some people just look for something to latch on to - to NOT like him.

Got it recorded - New Years day with a couple of bevvies. As for Laura Trott - she's brilliant. Just found a cheap pair of track wheels £80 the pair including fixed and freewheel sprockets -always liked fixed wheel

Brilliant programme. Top man is Guy a real character and comes across well on the tv. The rest of the series looks good too, looking forward to it. On a slight aside if your into books James Whitam,s "What a good do" is well worth a read, crumbs he,s gone through some stuff.

Great program - watched it twice now. And I really like Guy Martin's attitude to a challenge. Roll on the next episode!

I spent 13 happy years in Lincolnshire, from 1976 (we lived in Carlton Scroop). Now I often go up there on the bike from North Bucks, if I want a bit of a blast around relatively quiet roads. There are some very flat areas out on the fens, but the wolds, and west Lincs are nicely undulating.
