Watched it on I player.
It was epic.
I especially enjoyed the part about Laurence of Arabia.
However the only problem I have with this sort of programme is the emphasis on speed, high risk and danger, and the implication that these aspects are somehow what attract people to biking.
It's a stereotypical image that even positive media coverage always promotes, and I feel is an incorrect generalisation.
High speed has never done anything for me, and I certainly do not go out on my bike because I revel in danger and risk taking and I have met enough riders in my time to know that I am not alone.
The only time I ever got close to real danger was when I maxed out a ZZR1100 on an autobahn in Germany.
I managed about 10 seconds, and it was a very unpleasant experience.
Yes some people love taking risks and revel in danger, but certainly not everyone and it's not an association that should go hand in hand with biking.
Just my opinion.
