The film is what it is and there are numerous similar available at present from the likes of Blitz. Sure they are a little arty but so what, their old airhead BMW,s are pretty cool.
The BMW R nine T is a disappointment for me. If the café racer version had not come before it and BMW offered the nine T as a stand alone bike I think it would have gone down better. The back end is neat and the exhaust system different, the front does look a little bulky in the tank area but not all bad. The price is steep for a naked bike with an old design motor so its hard to justify the price. I,m afraid the café racer spoilt us.

I'm starting to see why they need £16k for the bike now!
What a coup for blitz though.

Though it is expensive, I'd rather just cut to the chase and have this

Whilst in good times H-D showed that you can sell bikes complete with fringed jackets as a lifestyle choice, Oh dear, this lot are chasing a ghost market!
They have gone so far up themselves theyre breathing their own methane fumes...I'm sure the cost of the shoot location etc would fix me a couple of years fuel (2yrs x 1200 miles / 50mpg x £6.10)
Sure there are folks out there who will buy this (and not even wince at the cost) -but its never going to be an all-rounder, or a sporty bike, or just a good tourer. So its not one for square old me.

MCN have the price of the nineT as £11,500 (tbc)
Someone on here mentioned £16,000.
Who's right?

Apologies for misquoting. I'll try to pay more attention.

I have to say after reading the BMW write up in MCN this week the bike does look better in the detail. If the price is £1160 that's I believe approx. £1600 above the R1200R, is it worth it....maybe..... to some at least.

I have to say, that if it really does come in at about this price, then it sheds a whole different light on the bike.
I was told by my local BMW dealer that the first batch are going to be special limited edition anniversary models, and that the "ordinary" production version would follow later.
I just find it disappointing.
I had really hoped BMW were going to give us something less middle of the road.
I mean to me, it's a bit non descript, and with the café racer single seat option, it just looks wrong, but hey, they know their market I guess.
I do think though that they should have looked at the success Moto Guzzi have enjoyed with their unashamedly retro V7 bikes, which have accounted for a 31% sales increase for Guzzi.
Old school sells and BMW have the credentials to pull it off.
