Motogp Tyre Debacle

Post by popsky »

You couldn't make this up!

Aussie GP
The FIM/Race Direction shall shorten the Moto2 race by half cause of safety issues with the Dunlops, and the Motogp riders must make a pit stop to change bikes between laps 12 & 14, cause Bridgstone can't guarantee there tyres safety for more than 14 laps.

I can understand the riders safety issues and deffo wouldn't want them to be placed under extra risk, but for fecks sake Dunlop/Bridgstone get your act together, it's ridiculous that 2 top manufacturers have got into this situation. And when all riders have to come in to the pits with a 2 lap window, what of the safety issues with that?

I suspect this is the answer - they've been asked to produce something which falls away, but made it slightly too marginal.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Inappropriate penalty I say. Perhaps he got off lightly at Aragon cos it was his own teammate he spannered, I doubt that would have been a 1 point penalty if it was Horgey he had spannered. Keeps the championship alive but yeah farcical.

Not half as tragic as Scott Redding breaking his wrist and the Moto 2 championship going out the window....probably.

I travel all over Europe to watch the MotoGP. I enjoy the journey, and sometimes the event.

The problem at Phillip Island seems to have been a dislocate between renewing the tarmac and the tyre supplier's understanding of the changes in
reality.

For the premier class, Marc and his team made a mistake that they will learn from.

Sadly Scott may delay his first championship chance, but he is already promoted.

As always, we look forward to next year.

The pit lane exit speed rule was also a cock up. Very nearly with horrific consequences.

What a shame as Marquez rode out of his skin. At least the battle goes on to motegi.

Excellent! Espargaro has the upper hand psychologically. Redding needs to pull another Silverstone out of the bag this weekend. If the gods are smiling Rabat will take out Espargaro and they'll have fisticuffs in the gravel trap :D

Oh, and I wish that prat Moody would stop calling him 'the Gloucestershire lad'. Yeah, may be factual but it's patronising and, tbh, anything that pillock says grits my shit

That's sounds a good scenario, don't know why but both Espargaro's get right up my nose
