When I think back, I used to buy loads.
I subscribed to BIKE and RIDE, and even bought MCN from time to time.
I used to look forward to them.
Nowadays, there's nothing that really interests me, and only Practical Sportsbikes warrants a quick flick through in Smiths.
Is it me, or have the magazines lost touch with the common rider.
If not, which mags do you actually buy.

MCN every week and Ride evey month. Had a Bike subscription until a while ago ,but not renewing.
Main reason for MCN is race reports and in the short winter days, it keeps me entertained, Ride is good for gear reports, and touring reports.

Subscribe to MCN. That's borderline, but the back pages keep me hanging on. Plus, I guess, the worry that I might miss something genuinely new or original.

Used to subscribe to BIKE but got fed up with paying good money for the same old flavour of the year topic. Sportsbike/adventure etc. it seemed to be all or nothing.

I don't buy any mags anymore. Would rather spend the money on good books instead.

I know its a waste of time buying monthly mags, but you see it on the shelf and can't resist, thinking it will be worthwhile as a certain model is being tested..........................only to be disappointed.

That reflects exactly how I felt a few years ago. I just don't look anymore.

Earlier this year, on a flight to the states, I fell soft and bought two mags totalling a gnats off a tenner. I also had bought the Mick grant autobiography on amazon at around a fiver brand new. Within 20 minutes I'd exhausted anything of any interest and substance from the mags whereas the book lasted all the way there and back and was a brilliant read from front to back.

I picked up the Barry sheene book by Steve Parrish for around £4, the Jamie whitham autobiography for £6, Rossi story by mat oxley similar money, etc etc all brand new. Admittedly some books (brand new) are more around £15, but they're for keeps. It's a no contest for me. Just keeping MCN in tow to keep up to date really.

Practical sports bikes can be a decent read.

I guess because it appeals to people like me (us), bleary eye'd late middle ages keen to relive our youth.

I love reading the readers restorations.

The money people spend is unbelievable.

Used to subscribe to BIKE etc..

...However age must have caught up with me as I find the gentle pace of Classic Bike much more readable.

Also it is funny how BMW motorcylces of certain vintages are now featured in their buyers guides!

How long before and R1100S or even an R1200S is featured in their future classic section?
