Definitely not an Iron Butt!

Post by Grip Fast »

Just back after completing a 4-day, 1200+ mile tour up to Scotland. Not iron butt territory (more chubby-cheeks), but I did find the last bit down the M6 to home today was well hard! The 12S ran like a dream, and returned brilliant fuel economy (typically 155 miles to the start of the 55 mile countdown to empty), so a theoretic 200 miles possible from a tank full.

I did fill up with 95 RON in Fort William (though if I'd gone another 200 yds I would have found a Shell station), but I didn't notice any difference in performance compared to 97.

Used my Bags-Connection tailpack for the first time, and it was just perfect for what I needed, though it didn't get rain tested. Certainly way better (for me) than the tank bag, which I didn't get on with last time.

The scenery never fails to blow me away. Stunning ride through Glencoe to the west coast yesterday, after a day of rest and visiting siblings on Sunday. I definitely need to spend several days exploring Scotland next time.

That is very good mpg, I get no where near that, closer to 100 miles before the count down starts at about 40 miles!

Glad you had a good time.
