Has anyone else had a problem with the surace of the alluminium bits below the rear caliper, having a "crazed" or the appearance of tiny cracks in the paint surface?
Ive just changed the rear pads this afternoon and have noticed it.

I had it on my K1200RS. After it had been in for accident repair.

A wipe with a WD40 soaked rag used to make it disappear.

I think it is to do with excessive application of heat when dismantling the rear end (to loosen the effect of Loctite).

Thanks very much
I was wondering it there may be a fault inside there and a build up of heat but when i stop and check its not gettin hot.
I'll have a quic go with the wd40 though, thanks

I noticed mine had crazed after the bike was 12 months old, At last service I told the service guy who said it has been seen before.
They are changing mine under warranty in Dec before warranty ends.
